Microsoft Exchange Server, a
client server is Microsoft’s collaborative application. Outlook email
application synchronizes with the Exchange Server to facilitate users to
send/receive emails. Hence, all the data of emails is stored on the Exchange
within the EDB files. The rapid increase in business processes requires quick
information exchange. Dependency on emails necessitates fast and efficient
access. Microsoft Exchange is developed and designed keeping track of
challenges and requirements of different users who tend to use the messaging
system frequently. Since emails contain important information; it is a mandate
to keep the back up of email data for future requirement. The main components
of Microsoft Exchange Server are Active Directory and Information Store.
