MS Exchange Server is one of the most trusted and recommended server side applications. The Exchange Server is widely popular and used by large section of organization due to its adroit and easy to use features. The application is perfectly compatible for data storage, mobile and web based access of information. The Exchange Server is prone to number of errors; hence there are always some threats associated with Exchange data files. In order to overpower the troublesome situation user is allowed to maintain backup of Exchange data in the BKF format. The backup can be created using Windows NT Backup tool in XP. Basically BKF files are categorized under three sections known as EDB, STM and LOG files. The EDB files are Exchange database files, STM are streaming media files and Log files are meant of maintaining the transactions.
