In the modern era of advance
communication technology, emails or data value more than money for a
user. Microsoft Exchange Server is one of the most popular e-mail
communication & management programs run by big as well as small
sized organizations. Nowadays, it can also be considered as one of
the most important component of an organization and plays precious
role in the success of the organization. Microsoft Windows OS
applications provide inbuilt backup tools for MS Exchange Server,
known as NTBackup and Windows Server Backup utilities. These inbuilt
tools use .bkf file format to store backup data.
But, sometimes these utilities might be
of no use when they experiences corruption issues in backup file.
After which, the stored data in .bkf file cannot be accessible. At
this point, you can restore an alternative Exchange backup file, if
you have at any other location. However, if you don’t have
alternative backup, then you need to repair damaged Exchange BFK file
to restore the data from it.
An Exchange BKF file contains EDB, LOG
and STM files. These files store complete communication as well as
personal data of all employees, working in the organization. Any
major or minor issue in these files may become the reason of
corruption in backup file.
How Backup File May Help You?
In MS Exchange Server, when an Exchange
database (.edb) file gets corrupted or damaged, all data stored in
database become inaccessible to its users. Corruption in EDB file
results halt to entire communication channel of the company. It
becomes very difficult to users to access their important data from
highly corrupted EDB file. At this point, you are advised to restore
important data from backup file. But, when a BKF file also gets
corrupted, then you need to repair it by using a third party Exchange
backup repair software.
An Exchange backup file can get damaged
due to various reasons. Some of them are given below:
- Hard drive failure
- Backup interruptions
- Missing catalogue files
- Suddenly damage of System software and hardware
- Virus Attack
- CRC or (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors
- Backup software malfunctioning
