Why Taking Backup Is So Necessary

The use of computer has changed the picture of this corporate world. There are many client server applications used in different organizations. But the Exchange Server side application runs in most of the companies because it provide facility to its user for sending and receiving emails, contacts, attachments, to set prior appointments etc. that are daily used activities.

Exchange Server stores all data and files in the form of Exchange database files that are called EDB files. Like this it avails some more features such as multi mailbox search, Exchange control panel, Database availability group, voice mail transcription, call answering rules, Personal archive, Retention policies, Role based access control and much more.

Each user of any client-server application wants safe and secure platform to work with its client so that he doesn’t suffer any data loss situation. To overcome this scenario user must have backup on a regular basis so that if any disaster problem occurs you can get your precious data back.

Taking backup for the one time will not be helpful to bring back whole data in some severe condition but user has to update it regularly. Since many employees are working so a lot of data is collected on daily basis. NTBackup is the default utility to backing up data and files. It comes in the package and saves the information in .bkf format. This backup is the collection of three different types of files Exchange database files (EDB), Log files and Streaming media files. These files store their own data. For example EDB file contains all Exchange information, STM stores all the internet content and Log file stores all the changes to the exchange server databases.

But what happens if this backup file gets corrupted through any of these following reasons:-

  • Hard drive failure
  • Backup interruptions
  • Missing catalog files
  • Suddenly damage of System software and hardware
  • Virus Attack
  • CRC or (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors
  • Backup software malfunctioning
  • Hardware and software malfunctions
  • Unexpected power failure
  • Checksum mismatch
  • Operating system problems
In such a case when backup file is damaged and you are looking to recover Exchange BKF file, user can use or install Stellar Phoenix Exchange BKF Repair software. Once when I was involved in such type of a situation and I needed one of my email on urgent basis, I used it and within some hours I was able to recover and sent that email to my most important client. This software provides its demo version, so before buying you can try that also.
